We are thrilled to be co-sponsoring renowned organist Douglas Cleveland for an open masterclass and concert on the beautiful Fritts organ at St. Philip. Doug will give an open masterclass on Saturday September 13 from 10am–noon featuring students from the University of Houston Organ Program, followed by a concert Sunday September 14 at 3:00pm featuring guest trumpeter and current director of the University of Houston Moores School of Music, Brian Kai Chin. This weekend is also generously sponsored in part by the Houston Chapter, American Guild of Organists.
Doug’s prolific concertizing career has included performing in all 50 U.S. states, Europe, Asia, Central America, Canada, Iceland, and Russia. He has also performed as a sponsored by the American Embassy at international festivals, and is known for his creative program and vast repertoire, which ranges from Baroque to contemporary.
